Karthi is secretive about honeymoon
Two hot `n happening K’town guys — actor Karthi and filmmaker Selvaraghavan — are tying the knot on the same day, July 3. Both the high- profile weddings are the talk of the town.
Karthi has gone in for a bride (Ranjini) chosen by his parents, while Selva is marrying his assistant Gitanjali.
The two had met the media, separately, and personally invited them for their wedding.
The best part was that when DC asked Selva about his honeymoon plans, he laughed and said, “Honeymoon? Where is the time? I’m on the verge of completing my film Irandam Ulagam and am fully occupied with post-production work. So we are not planning to go on a honeymoon now.”
Karthi, who has shed a few kilos, looked every bit ecstatic. Though he has made secret plans for a honeymoon and will be flying off to an exotic resort and spa abroad, the actor was tight-lipped about the location.
After a little probing the Sirutthai star revealed the reason for his reticence.
He giggled, "Oh no, I won't tell. I may sound a little overboard if I open up. Past experience has taught me to keep mum. When I went to the Berlin International Film Festival for the premiere of my debut flick Parutthi Veeran, there were about a dozen teenaged girls who asserted that they were my hardcore fans. They thronged the venue asking for my autograph and wanting me to pose with them for pictures. Though it was a big surprise in an alien land and that too for my debut film, it gave me a big high. Imagine, if DC had to publish the name of the place where I am off to for my honeymoon and I had to face a similar situation!" he grinned.
A 'mehndi' ceremony has been planned for Ranjini at the city's Rain Tree Hotel today (Wednesday) and this will be a totally private affair. Looks like the wedding is going to be a small and traditional function, with only close relatives and friends of Karthi and Ranjini, invited.A source said that the bride will sport a heavily sequined designer outfit which has been handpicked by Karthi and his cousin Gnanavel's wife Neha.
For the other wedding, the entire Sivakumar parivaar will be leaving on the 30th of this month for their native Kasigoundar Pudhur near Sulur in Coimbatore district.
The family will offer prayers and conduct poojas at the temple of their family deity, Eswaran Temple in Kangeyam. This is a customary practice in the Sivakumar clan.
After that they will proceed to the formal, spacious wedding hall, Codissia Complex in Kovai, for the 'Big Day
